Text: Top spots in the US

Read the following paragraphs as a basis of your choice.

Florida

If you yearn for warm sandy beaches with palm trees swaying in the tropical breezes, then Florida may be the ideal vacation destination for you. Year-round golf, serious sports fishing and lounging on the beach are pleasant Florida alternatives to slogging through sleet and snow during the frigid winters in the northern latitudes. Additionally, Florida offers Disney World, Universal Studios, and the Kennedy Space Center. Together with numerous other attractions, this constitutes the world’s largest family entertainment concentration.

California

California epitomized the „West Coast“ of the United States. Palm trees and sandy beaches with that fabulous California surf, Hollywood with the homes of the famous movie stars, the spectacular scenery of Big Sur, the giant redwood forests, the wild Sierra Nevada mountains and the beautiful desolation of „Death Valley“ all contribute to making California one of the most interesting vacation spots in the country.

New York City

The „Big Apple“ is home for more than 12 million Americans. This vibrant metropolis is international headquarters for numerous businesses and institutions including the United Nations. Here you will find Broadway, Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan museum, Madison Square Gardens and many other musical, theatrical, sports and cultural diversions. You can also find restaurants, nightclubs and entertainment of all sorts, plus thousands of stores and shops that make it a „shopping“ wonderland.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the gambling capital of the United States. The famous Vegas Strip is where you’ll find some of the most spectacular hotels and casinos in the world. In between rolling the dice, you can catch a show with long-legged show girls or rare royal white tigers. And the entertainment doesn’t stop. At night, the neon lights set the city aglow as far as the eye can see.

Washington D.C.

As the nation’s capitol, Washington D.C. has a lot to offer tourists. You can learn about practically every aspect of the American Government, dine in some of the country’s finest restaurants, and tour some of the world’s best museums.

Colorado

Colorado has some of the most beautiful scenery in the United States. It is a haven for skiers, hikers, mountain climbers, rock climbers and bikers. It also has a rich history as part of the „Old West“, which is preserved in Colorado today.

Hawaii

Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places in the world! The islands feature spectacular scenery, colorful plants, exotic wildlife, active volcanoes, and a unique culture. Because each island is different, Hawaii is the perfect place for everything from a romatic getaway to an outdoor adventure excursion!

Yellowstone

Yellowstone is one of the most beautiful and most popular parks in the United States. Visit Yellowstone to roam with the buffalo, see the natural geysers, and hike through the rugged terrain. But watch out for the bears!

Arizona

Arizona is much more than just the Grand Canyon with its spectacular sights. It is a state with a rich history that includes Native American tribes, gold mining, and Old West towns. The state has deserts, lakes, mountains and forests. In this diverse landscape, visitors can enjoy many activities including hiking, fishing, river-rafting and horse-backriding.

Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville, Tennessee is the home of Country Western Music. It has many attractions to keep a country music fan entertained, from live music at the Grand Ole Opry and line dancing at the Wild Horse Saloon to shopping for cowboy boots and hats in downtown Nashville.
