How to develop an argument

A convincing argument consists of a statement (Behauptung) and an explanation which illustrates the statement. If needed you can add an example (Begründung / Beispiel). Here is one example:

On the one hand, I can understand the worries of villagers that these wind turbines will cause a many disadvantages. The sheer size of the windmills will damage our landscape – especially because it is planned to erect them next to a recreation area. People who want to enjoy the beautiful nature to relax in natural surroundings might feel disturbed and in the end decide not to come to our place. Furthermore, these machines cause noise and are a threat to birds which might be killed when colliding with the turning blades. These aspects show that wind turbines will have a negative effect on our environment.
